These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of OpenNote AI. By using OpenNote AI, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. App Purpose

OpenNote AI provides tools for notes, writing, document organization, PDFs, handwriting, audio recording, transcription, translation, and AI-assisted workflows. OpenNote AI is provided for personal productivity, study, writing, and information management.

2. Your Content

You retain ownership of notes, recordings, transcripts, files, images, PDFs, documents, handwriting, folders, and other content that you create or import into OpenNote AI.

You are responsible for the content you store, record, import, export, share, or process with the app. You agree not to use OpenNote AI to create, store, process, or share content that is illegal, harmful, infringing, abusive, or violates the rights of others.

3. Local-First AI

OpenNote AI is designed to be local-first. The current release does not send your notes, documents, PDFs, recordings, handwriting, transcripts, prompts, or AI conversations to third-party AI services.

AI-assisted features are designed to run on your device when available. OpenNote AI does not use your notes, documents, PDFs, recordings, handwriting, transcripts, prompts, or AI conversations to train third-party AI models.

If a future version of OpenNote AI adds an optional cloud AI feature that sends user-selected content to a third-party AI service, the app will clearly explain what data is sent, identify the service provider, and ask for your permission before sending that content.

4. Local AI Model Downloads

OpenNote AI may allow you to download optional local AI model files, such as Gemma-compatible models, so that AI features can run on your device.

Local model files may be hosted by third-party model file hosts or mirrors, such as Hugging Face, ModelScope, GitHub Releases, or another configured download source. These hosts are used only to download model files.

Model file hosts may receive standard network information normally included in a download request, such as IP address, request time, requested file URL, and normal browser, device, or network metadata.

OpenNote AI does not send your notes, documents, PDFs, recordings, handwriting, transcripts, prompts, or AI conversations to model file hosts.

Some model files may be subject to separate licenses or terms from their providers. You are responsible for following those model licenses and any laws that apply in your location.

5. AI Output Accuracy

AI-generated summaries, translations, transcripts, document insights, organization suggestions, or other outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific situation.

You should review important output before relying on it, especially for school, work, business, legal, medical, financial, or other important decisions.

6. Audio Recording, Transcription, and Translation

You are responsible for making sure you have permission to record audio, transcribe speech, translate content, or process documents where required by law or by the rules of your organization, school, workplace, or local jurisdiction.

OpenNote AI is not responsible for your failure to obtain required consent before recording, transcribing, translating, storing, exporting, or sharing content.

7. Account and Sign in with Apple

OpenNote AI may allow you to sign in with Apple or use account-based features for sync, subscription access, or account management.

If you sign in with Apple, account access is managed through Sign in with Apple and OpenNote AI account features.

You can delete your OpenNote AI account directly inside the app:

Settings > Account > Delete Account

Deleting your account may remove account-related data and may affect account-based sync or account-based app functionality. App Store subscriptions remain managed through your Apple ID and Apple’s App Store subscription settings.

8. In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

OpenNote AI may offer optional paid features, including OpenNote Plus and OpenNote Pro. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store.

Subscription pricing, billing period, renewal, cancellation, refund handling, and payment processing are subject to Apple’s App Store rules and your Apple ID settings.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Your Apple ID may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings:

If subscription access does not appear correctly in the app, open the subscription page in OpenNote AI and tap Restore Purchases.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use OpenNote AI to:

10. No Professional Advice

OpenNote AI does not provide legal, medical, financial, tax, investment, academic, or other professional advice. Any note organization, summary, translation, transcription, AI output, or document insight should be reviewed by a qualified person before being used for important decisions.

11. Privacy

Your use of OpenNote AI is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what information OpenNote AI handles and how it is protected.

12. Availability and Changes

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue features as OpenNote AI evolves. Some features may depend on device capability, operating system version, available storage space, Apple services, App Store availability, or network access for model file downloads, account access, subscription verification, or sync features.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.

13. Disclaimer

OpenNote AI is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, always available, or suitable for every use case.

You are responsible for keeping backup copies of important notes, documents, recordings, transcripts, and files.

14. Limitation of Liability
